LTE
- The LTE specification is currently being developed, with
release of the air interface physical layer achieved at the end of 2007,
and the protocol layers expected by the end of 2008. LTE will provide an
all-new wireless communication technology that adopts new techniques such
as OFDMA and MIMO for its wireless system and is based on an all IP network.

HSPA
- The term, High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) was adopted by the UMTS Forum
when refering to improvements to the UMTS Radio Interface in Releases 5
and 6 of the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) standards. HSPA refers
to improvements made to the UMTS downlink, High Speed Downlink Packet Access
(HSDPA) and the uplink, High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA), also known
as Enhanced Dedicated CHannel (E-DCH). |

WiMAX
- Worldwide
Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) digital communications technology
is based on wireless transmission methods defined by the IEEE-802.16 air
interface standard. Intended for wireless metropolitan area networks, it
can provide broadband wireless access with a typical cell radius of 7 -12
km for fixed stations, and 1 - 3 km for mobile stations. |

Bluetooth®
- By eliminating wires and simplifying connections
between everyday appliances, Bluetooth wireless technology influences
our lives in many ways. |

WLAN - Reading
emails and surfing the internet whilst on the move, at an airport or in
a café, has become an accepted part of daily life. Now WLAN technology
is also being integrated into mobile phones and PDAs so that users of these
products can also benefit from improved access to data whist on the move.
