News & Press Releases - [Main Index] New test solutions to support development of next generation 40G/100G communications networks 2009-09-21 - Expandable Platform of MP1800A Signal Quality Analyzer series now offers signal generation/analysis up to 56Gbps. The MP1800 Series is a uniquely Compact and Flexible Cost-efficient Test Solution for Measuring BER of Optical Modulation Devices and 10G/40G/100G Optical/Digital Devices -Vienna, Austria - September 21, 2009 - Anritsu Corporation meets the demands of testing the technology for next generation communications networks as it introduces the new 56Gbit/s MUX/DEMUX modules to its MP1800 Signal Quality Analyzer. Engineered for both cost-conscious manufacturing and advanced R&D, the MP1800 Series can grow and expand unlike any other analyzer. The unique new options enable large parallel configurations with new MUX/DEMUX modules that provide the design solution for 10G/20G/40G/100G Applications. Internet Exchanges (IX) and ISPs require larger network capacities as more Internet users access more rich-content services over faster access networks such as DSL, LTE, WiMax, FTTx, etc. To meet these needs, IEEE, ITU-T, and OIF are defining new standards for next-generation 40G and 100G networks. To overcome the price/performance issue which slowed down 40G networks deployment since 2001, these new standards use WDM transmission equipment and phase-modulation technologies to implement more robust and easier to maintain transmission, even with the next to come higher symbol rates. With many equipment vendors focusing to meet these needs, the MP1821A 50G/56Gbit/s MUX and MP1822A 50G/56Gbit/s DEMUX are essential tools to help development teams to assess quality of transmission, and verify performances against complexity, for the new components of next generation networking solutions. Covering bit rates from 8Gbps to 56Gbps, the new Mux and Demux units have been developed to help customers bring these new products to market in the fastest possible time. They have been designed to reduce the usual complexity and issues which engineers need to face when testing very high bit rates in the R&D laboratory. These new mux/demux modules can be used for both research on signal transmission and development of high speed components, including direct evaluation of wafers on probe stations. By offering extreme flexibility in configurations, top end specifications and features such as skew generation and analysis, and built-in automatic graphical signal analysis, MP1800A SQA with new 56G Mux and Demux units is the best solution to support research, development and engineering towards 100Gbps!
