For over 100 years Anritsu has been a leader in developing emerging technologies. First to provide 3G test and measurement solutions to the wireless market, we are now firmly established as the leader of 3G test. First to develop a range of products for HSPA, Anritsu is now at the forefront of developing solutions meeting not only the broader need of this technology but the industries demands for implementing LTE and Next Generation Networks.

 

The term, High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) was adopted by the UMTS Forum when referring to improvements to the UMTS Radio Interface in Releases 5 and 6 of the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) standards. HSPA refers to improvements made to the UMTS downlink, High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and the uplink, High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA), also known as Enhanced Dedicated CHannel (E-DCH). Beyond HSPA is Release 7 of 3GPP that further improves HSPA, now to be called HSPAEvolution. This will provide higher peak data rates using MIMO and Higher Order Modulation, improve battery life, and reduce latency (delays) in waiting for data.

Building on our experience with GSM & 3G test, we are the first company to offer a full suite of test instruments for accurately analysing 3.5G High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) devices, user equipment (UE) and networks.

We realised the potential of HSPA very early, and began to deploy the technology in 2002 with HSDPA measurement software for the MS8608A/MS8609A Digital Mobile Radio Transmitter Testers. Our partnerships with global telecom market leaders, and active participation with industry standards organisations has now produced a full range of test and measurement solutions being used by HSPA equipment and chipset manufacturers, as well as by several of the world's major service providers to meet their announced goals of offering HSPA services.
